It's been a while since I've submitted anything on dA. Life's been pretty hectic. Things are starting to calm down now, though. And I gave a speech on dreams earlier (wow, I'm so good with segues XD) so I figured I'd post another dream journal again. This dream isn't that recent anymore. Maybe a few months ago. But it's really funny and I'm really proud of it so I wanna share. :3

Ok. So I was in this mall, and I had an overdue meeting with the toilet. It took me a while before I was able to find a restroom, but I did, eventually. For some strange reason, though, the toilets didn't have anything surrounding them. No walls, no doors to hide the users. I didn't really pay it any mind, though, because Mother Nature was really insistent. So I went ahead to do my business.

Suddenly, there's this old man standing beside me. He said something along the lines of "Are you sure you're gonna do your business here? What if it carries over to the real world?"

It was then that I realized that I was just dreaming and I needn't have done my business at all.

I felt that this part was worth sharing because it's the very first time that an "NPC" from my dreams admitted that I was only dreaming.

I shifted into a different dream and forgot that I was only dreaming again. I did some stuff that I don't really remember anymore. It's not really important.

And then the world glitched.

I was in my room. And for a split second, I was back at the mall. And then back to my room again.

The scenes flickered before me and I remembered. I was still dreaming.

I was very excited. Much more so this time, because my mind was clearer. I was more aware. But I had to do some sort of test. Just to make sure.

I ran to the bathroom, put my head in the sink face up, and turned the faucet on. I could see the water running down my face and I could feel some pressure. But I didn't feel the cold wetness of the water. I was certain then that I was dreaming.

I've done lucid dreaming before, but this was my most aware. Usually, I only become aware whenever I run. So mostly, my lucid dreaming was composed only of me controlling my running speed. When I was focused enough, I could go fast enough to feel like I was teleporting.

But I've done that many times. I wanted to do something new this time. I thought and thought and thought. And then it occurred to me. This was good practice for nightmares! I wanted to learn how to wake myself up.

Well. I didn't really know how to do that consciously. I've done it before. In a dream that looked like it was slowly turning into a nightmare, I dipped out for a moment, thought that the dream's plot seemed quite interesting, became curious as to what the turn-out of events would be, and dove back in.

But this time, simply willing it didn't seem to work. I tried different methods. I pinched myself all over, I shook myself vigorously, I jumped up and down... Nothing worked!

Somewhere in my random methods for attempting to wake up, I forgot that I was dreaming again, and thus, I also forgot my purpose. I woke up again after a while.
